SUMMARY:Communitary Day of the Dead Altar
DESCRIPTION:The traditional Day of the Dead installation at Granville Islan
 d is a heartfelt tribute to those who are no longer with us. We honor their
  memory by bringing photographs\, candles\, and flowers\, celebrating one o
 f Mexico's and many Latin American countries' most significant pre-Hispanic
  traditions. This tradition has been recognized by UNESCO as an Intangible 
 Cultural Heritage of Humanity. As part of the celebrations\, guided tours w
 ill be offered for school groups\, primarily for secondary students. Additi
 onally\, on the weekend of October 31st–November 1st\, workshops will be 
 held to teach how to create an altar or ofrenda for the Day of the Dead\, e
 xplaining the ancestral meanings behind each element used in the creation o
 f the altar. We will receive visitors from all over the world\, as well as 
 different school groups from Metro Vancouver. Please see the schedule of th
