Samba Pra Elas
Join amarElas and Batucada Abrace for an afternoon of live samba and powerful female voices in honour of International Women’s Day
Samba Pra Elas is a women-centered roda de samba celebrating International Women’s Day through music, joy, and community. Led by amarElas, a band of Brazilian women musicians in Vancouver, this event highlights songs by iconic female artists and honors the strength, creativity, and vibrance of women in samba.
Joining us is Batucada Abrace, bringing the energy of their women-led percussion crew to light up the afternoon. The event also features a small marketplace showcasing women entrepreneurs from our local community.
Children
This is a family-friendly event. All children ages 0–12 must register for a free child ticket so we can track venue capacity.
Children attending the event still count toward our venue limit, so please make sure to include them in your order.
Expect live samba, danceable rhythms, and a welcoming atmosphere where everyone can connect, celebrate, and uplift women’s voices.
Dress code (optional):
Come in white to symbolize unity and renewal, or in bright colors to embrace the joyful spirit of samba — whatever feels most like you.
