Latin American AFTER-SCHOOL Activities

The very first Chiquitzin After-School Program is here, and we can’t wait to welcome your little ones! This program offers two unique streams designed to nurture language, culture, creativity, and confidence—all while having fun.

Mini Bilinguals (Ages 2–6)

Starts September 6
Every Saturday | 11:00 am – 12:00 pm

A Space for Play, Learning, and Connection
In this program, children strengthen their connection with Spanish through play, music, and imagination. Each class creates a safe and joyful space where the language is lived, felt, and enjoyed.

Why Spanish Matters:
A second language is more than words—it’s part of a child’s identity. Speaking Spanish helps children connect with their culture, traditions, and loved ones while building self-confidence and a strong sense of belonging in Canada.

Activities Include:

• Games and interactive activities

• Rhythmic songs and movement

• Read-aloud stories with puppets and big books

• Cultural traditions and celebrations through play

This program plants a love for language and culture, supporting children as they grow with joy, community, and belonging.

Semillero Artístico (Ages 7–12)

Starts September 12
Every Friday | 5:30 pm – 6:30 pm

A Program for Cultural, Emotional, and Social Development Through Dance and Music
This program uses Latin American rhythms, songs, and dances to help children express themselves, connect with their roots, and build confidence in a multicultural environment.

Activities Include:

• Rhythm and movement games

• Percussion and vocal expression with traditional songs

• Easy and enjoyable choreographies with salsa and folk dances

• Storytelling and cultural adventures connecting music to its origins

All activities are conducted in Spanish.
