Workshop: The Immigrant’s Journey, Reflection and Belonging at St. Peter’s Parish Health Fair

A revealing session with Roxana Giles, exploring the emotional and psychological journey of migrants.

“Migrant Grief” is a space for reflection and growth designed for those who have experienced the migration process and are seeking emotional tools to face the changes, grief, and transformation that this journey involves.

We will address the deepest emotional aspects of migration, exploring its impact on our identity, sense of belonging, and the family dynamics affected by distance.

We’ll explore how migration can create a sense of loss of identity and disconnection, and we’ll work on strategies to strengthen grounding and adaptation in a new environment.

We’ll also analyze the changes in family structure after migration — both for those who leave and those who stay — and learn how to manage these challenges positively to strengthen family bonds.

Each session includes practical mindfulness exercises and reflection circles, offering a safe space to share experiences and connect with others who are going through the same process.
